Independent Incline Village Committee Meeting Notice

To all citizens of Incline Village and Crystal Bay:

As you may be aware, some months ago, a committee was formed by IVGID to 
study the possibilities of Incline Village & Crystal Bay becoming a city or 
a county. Our General Manager Bill Horn was able to work out a cost sharing 
agreement with Washoe County to split the cost to hire an independent 
consultant to analyze the finances if we were to become a city or a county.

The consultant, Candace Evert, has made significant progress on collecting 
information as to what will be involved in separating the Tahoe Basin 
portion of Washoe County into our own City/County. We do not yet have the 
final budget for the "New County" but the preliminary indications are 
extremely favorable for an "Independent Incline". Bottom line: Our property 
taxes may be less as a New County versus remaining with Washoe County. 
Plus, we will be able to control our own destiny as an independent city, 
county, and School District.

By this meeting date, July 25, Bill Horn will a final draft of the study 
and will be presenting a detailed financial analysis of what will be 
required to be our own City/County.

Every citizen of Incline Village and Crystal Bay will find this to be an 
interesting and informative meeting on the issue of separating from Washoe 
County and should plan on attending, if at all possible.
