Dear Incline Village & Crystal Bay Property Owners,
 
The Washoe County Commissioners have
scheduled a hearing on July 26 as was expected. However, it is not a public
hearing, no specific time is set for the discussion of the Incline Tax
situation and it is the last item on the Agenda, which states that the following
will take place:
 
“Discussion and possible direction
to staff on Incline Village/Crystal Bay property tax case, including, but not
limited to: available legal remedies; alternatives for sources of refund payments;
and, coordination with other local governments and districts who receive
property tax distributions.”.
 
The Board members of the Village
League and Attorney Suellen Fulstone will be attending and you are all invited
to attend as well, but we wanted you to be aware of the circumstances. It might
be a very long day, with minimal input from the public.
 
Of course, we will issue an Alert
immediately following the hearing to share any and all developments with
everyone.
 
Lots of News Articles about Settlement
Both the Bonanza and the Reno
Gazette Journal have published multiple articles about how Washoe County
proposes to repay the overpayment of our taxes plus interest.  
 
The good news is that it looks like
the county in one form or another is finding the monies.  The final agreement on how and when this is
to be accomplished must be approved by the Washoe County Commissioners.  As soon as this information becomes available
we will let you all know.
