Holiday Greetings to all Incline Village and Crystal Bay
property owners.  
 
2012 is going down in the record
books with major tax refunds from Washoe County for illegal and
unconstitutional property assessments of the past.  As of this week, a total of 5,613 Incline
Village and Crystal Bay parcels (64.05%) have received refunds.  The dollar value of the refunds, plus
interest is equal to $32,960,610.
 
The county is on track to complete
all refunds by August of next year, as mandated by the court.
 
10 Year Anniversary
On December 23, 2002, Ted Harris, on
behalf of the Village League, sent out an email to a small group of Incline
Village and Crystal Bay property owners asking them to help fight the Washoe
County Assessor on the just received outrageous property tax increases.  
 
Yes, our tax revolt is 10 years old
and still going strong.  We are winning
and will continue to do so.  Thank you
for all your support in this effort.  It
has taken a Village to make this happen, and could not have been done with just
a few.

Not Done Yet!
A huge amount of legal effort is
still going on behind the scene to get refunds for illegal and unconstitutional
assessments for property tax years 2003/04, 2004/05 and 2005/06. Hopefully we
will be able to make a nice announcement sometime next year.  Right now Washoe County, and the Nevada State
Board of Equalization are fighting us tooth and nail on every step we make to
get these three years refunded.  The
paperwork and documents fill enormous volumes of binders.  
 
For now, enjoy the holiday season
and may 2013 be even better than 2012.
