<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular">At yesterday’s Washoe County Commissioners' meeting, Gary Schmidt was<b> NOT REMOVED</b> from the Washoe County Board of Equalization. He was only censured. </font></p>
<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular">Please note that the Washoe County Assessors have appealed the win of an 8% reduction in land valuation on 1,200 properties to the State Board of Equalization. Now, if the State Board of Equalization forces a re-hearing, the county will not be able to “stack” the County Board of Equalization with a new member they can control.</font></p>
<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular">A</font><font size="-1" color="#00008b" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular"><b> special thanks</b></font><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular"> to you folks who sent over 160 emails to the Washoe County Commissioners in support of Gary Schmidt. We feel these messages were critical in saving Gary from being removed from the Board.</font></p>
