<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular"><b>Dear Village League Friends,</b></font></p>
<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular">This is the second notice about the Washoe County Assessor’s postcard. By now most all of you should have received the postcard. This postcard is from Robert McGowan, Assessor for Washoe County.</font></p>
<p><font color="red" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular"><b>Do Not Throw It Away.</b></font></p>
<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular">If you qualify for a 3% tax cap, then you have to return the postcard in order to have your 2005/2006 property tax increase to be less than or equal to 3%. If you do not return the postcard, and you do qualify for a 3% property tax cap, your property taxes will automatically be caped at the higher rate.</font></p>
<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular"><b>ALSO, you need to return the postcard by June 10th.</b></font></p>
<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular"><b>Rental Property<br>
</b></font><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular">With respect to Rental Property, only the low end rental property will qualify for the 3% tax cap. The Rental Property Postcard is very specific about the maximum rent you can charge, in order to qualify for the 3% property tax cap on rental property.</font></p>
<p><font color="red" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular"><b>Make a Copy<br>
</b></font><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular">As stated in Alert #71, after filling out the postcard, make a copy of the postcard for your records. We are sure the county assessor’s office will be making a few mistakes as they enter the data into their computers, therefore the need to document what you mailed in to the assessor’s office.</font></p>
