<DIV>One of our alert members brought to our attention a <STRONG><FONT color=#ff0000 size=5>SCAM</FONT></STRONG> letter that many of you have recently received. It purports to be a <STRONG>2009 Property Tax Reduction Form</STRONG> and asks you to sign an <STRONG>Authorization Form</STRONG> and remit a $189 fee to the <STRONG>Property Tax Review Board.</STRONG></DIV>

<DIV>Evidently, some <STRONG>con artists</STRONG> in Las Vegas are trying to capitalize on our recent victory before the State Board of Equalization, which was won for you by the Village League. The document states that they will file for a reduction of your 2009 property taxes. That is not possible. The final date for filing an appeal Petition for the tax year 2009-2010 was January 15, 2009. The data that is presented, pertaining to your property, is public information and can be easily obtained from the website of the Washoe County Assessor.</DIV>

<DIV>This letter looks like a legal document, but it is a phony. Please ignore it.</DIV>

<DIV>At 5 PM last evening, Washoe County issued a press release stating that approximately 30 phone calls were received during the day, asking about this <STRONG>Property Tax Reduction Form</STRONG>. Their message is the same. <STRONG><FONT size=4>Do not fill out the form or send in any money</FONT></STRONG>.</DIV>
